About Russell
Russell Barton’s practice is concentrated on civil appeals and litigation. He has substantial experience in pursuing and defending appeals from final judgments in both state and federal courts, as well as interlocutory appeals and mandamus proceedings. His experience includes litigation in the areas of oil and gas, real estate, financial institutions, professional liability, corporate governance, fiduciary litigation, and business torts.
Russell is board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He also is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and all Texas trial and appellate courts. He is a member of both the State Bar of Texas Appellate section and the Tarrant County Bar Association Appellate section, where he served as secretary in 2008-2009.
Russell and his wife, Patty, enjoy spending time with their son, Kurt, relaxing at the beach, and traveling. Russell also enjoys playing music.
